Retrofit later air con control
After having the 75 for about a month or so now I am starting to get dash board envy of those with the better models.
The air con unit is the standard one with dials on it rather than the push button one. Somebody has superglued a mobile phone holder on it as well in the past so there are some nasty marks on it. Is it possible to take this unit out and replace it with the push button panel or is that just for climate control models? I am half thinking about adding the SAT-NAV unit from a cono as well so may as well try and do it all in one hit. Any advice, part numbers, costs etc would be appreciated. Also it may sound like a daft question but is it possible to retrofit climate control to the car anyway? Classic SE owner wishing he had held out for a Conno! |

It is not a straight swap from the air con to the climate panel. iirc you would need to remove the complete heater unit from behind the dash and replace it with a climate unit - a big job
Sat Nav retro fit is possible and you can get it done by a commercial guy for around £1000 +. Some members have done it themselves - again a v. big job. If you do a search for sat nav retro fit you can read all about it. hth Mike

I knew the SAT NAV was going to be a big pain to sort out but was hoping there would be a non-climate control push button facia for the Air con that would just swap over. Oh well. Might buy some of those walnut stick on panels to cover up the marks.
Looks like a trip to Halfords for a cheap Sat-Nav unit is also in order Having said that the fluid running down the clutch pedal from the new master cylinder might be the first thing that needs sorting out! With a bit of look it will last long enough to get me back home tonight. |

Retrofitting Hi-Line sat nav is relatively easy once you have sourced all the parts I have done a howto on this
Changing the AC front panel is not worth the effort the the ATC panel uses electrical controls the other uses cables and mechanical controls simply not worth considering without having a week or two to do it and an entire donor car to use for parts |
