Default Symphony help

As a few people may remember i was trying to source an MG ZT fascia which is proving impossible. I hated the auto leads adapter so much that i have removed my Alpine tape / changer combo and refitted the Harmony. I also fitted a Sony changer so i still have cd's, Unfortunately the sound quality is nowhere near the Alpine, although it does look better! My next step is to probably source a symphony but would like some help as this is being a costly exercise.
If i get a symphony and the adapter harness will my steering controlls work?
will the sony adapter to fit the harmony fit the symphony or will i have to buy another changer?
is there seperate part numbers for the symphony (UK / Japan)
Thanks for your help.

Yes there are different parts for Japan and RoW Harmony.

The Japanese one has different wavebands and no RDS. The easy way to tell is the Japan one has separate CD/TAPE buttons and no TEL button. Wit a Japanese one, you wouldn't get much on FM unless you get a band extender, and I doin't know how well these work.
