Quick Update.

I fitted the Circoli Thermostat today and temps are now better but not perfect.

Stat seems to open at 84 degrees but this is a vast improvement on the faulty Gates one I fitted.

It maybe an idea to collate peoples experiences with the different makes of inline stats, as my experience with the Gates TH01489 so far has not been good. Thus far I have had 3 gates and two have failed, one in 11 months and one straight out of the box. Number 3 has only been fitted for a month though.

We shall see how long this Circoli one lasts, to be honest the quality to look at seemed pretty good and nearly half the price of a Gates with free shipping.

I had one of the in line housings from specialist components not long after the thread was started and they are now selling for £58 as below

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rover-75-M...item5652045689

I was originally getting low 70s and not warm enough to switch off the FBH at around 77c and the new stat did allow things to get warmer to solve that problem but still only got to the high 70s and occasionslly low 80s

Now i am back to low 70s and the original FBH problem so i guess the new stat has failed and i need a different one.

I would appreciate it if someone coud recommend the best one to fit into the specialist component housing, as if i have to read all the posts on here to get that info i will end up even older than i am now !

I changed the stat in my in line housing today from the original one which must have failed to a QH 107 91 degree one.

I was getting OBD readings of no more than 72/73 with the old one, now on a run got up to 99 and the temp gauge stuck on quarter to instead of twenty to

I have only tested it once so will keep an eye on over the next few days via the OBD
