Default Miricles do happen

got this pc in for repair, was blue screening & was running hooky copy of W7, obviously i wont re install a dodgy copy so am installing XP home with a shiny new liscense, Usual on a blue screener tis usually the last thing you try that sorts the problem out as in most fault finding. hehe, removed one stick of ram and there you go... sorted, save a lot of routing around

BSOD's can be a nightmare & i've had plenty of these on customer's pc's & my own.
I've got a handy little gadget that plugs into a PCI slot that detects most hardware faults & produces a fault code.
It's not completely foolproof mind & there have been times when I just take the system back to the bear essentials & boot it from there.
How come your installing XP as opposed to Win 7 ?
I tend to run both now & Win 7 Home Premium is cheap enough & quicker than XP.
I tend to only use the 32-bit versions as they are more universally compatible with a lot of software & hardware.

I reinstall what license they have, many people have hooky copies of W7 and an XP COA, so i have to re install XP. also W7 is pc age dependant.

Whats this little gizmo you use???
