Well, that's the rub. The trader doesn't know so hasn't had a chance to put it right. I'd be willing to bet the trader in question will deal with it without hesitating. The feedback will help them with their existing sales too.

This happens with unbranded parts in clear plastic bag, the void in the rubber looks quite large on them. I've had first-line ones fail that are similar to unipart ones fail quickly, but I think that was due to the 3rd world roads around here, I think it can be hit and miss, sometimes you get lucky.

So as I thought they only lasted 5 months it can be clearly seen on the original thread that they are not as the original. It is a shame that you had them fitted, now you have the cost of having the bushes fitted again, no amount of warranty takes this in to account if the part does not work as it should or is not up to the job. I wonder if the garage want any more photo's taken if so you will not have to pay out the costly labour hopefully those Unipart ones will do the job for you.

I will not be popular on the forum for saying this, but surely a part with a 5-year warranty and price to match that failed after 5 months deserves more than a replacement of the failed part with another of the same. I would suggest customer care requires compensation equal to the market value of the cost of fitting. This should be the norm. |

Hi Maninder I have said this in the past about parts that are not original or after market the warranty does not help if you have to pay out an high labour cost for re-fitting and you would certainly not want to fit the same product, the crank pulley on the diesel is a classic example use Corteco or expect to fit another fairly soon if not days it would be weeks, and you would end up fitting a Corteco one in the end.

I'll always happily look into any issues given the chance - these are original MG parts, we buy them in bulk through a SAIC parts dealer and they arrive in the OE bulk packaging by the hundred (hence not being individually boxed).
I've sold well over 1,000 pairs to date, my own set have 70,000 miles without issue - so they're definitely up to the job. Please get in touch, and we'll sort something out.
