Talking

Thanks all - job done. I've updated my IR SWC Goodmans radio-cassette to a SWC Sony single DIN unit, with CD, AUX, USB etc (as demanded by my regular passengers). I used an Autoleads PC99-X39 (with Sony patch lead for SWC), cutting the 2 wire red ISO plug off and reconnecting them as Fusilier illustrated with a choc bloc. The X39 lead simply fits in between the existing ISO connectors for the car loom and power/speaker adapter lead. All SWC functions tested OK.

Default Cable routing

Radio out again today. With winter coming I found the heater controller knob jammed 2/3 way round and would not select the last settings. Sure enough the adapter-extended loom at the back had fallen down and was jamming the cable. Moved it up and over to the lhs, away from the heater cable, and the problem was solved. Something to watch out for if you upgrade your ICE and extend the cable with an adapter!
