Is there anyone available to take Trevor's wife to and from the hospital a round trip of about 60 miles. The taxi fare I looked up, is around £50 each way. If Trevor's family can't help, I am wondering if the Scottish members could rally through for him with a solution? Apologies to Trevor, if I am interfering.

I live in Fife, but I may be able to help? I'm off this week and some of next so if you need any assistance, let me know. Hope it all goes well.

I don`t know of any personal situations with Trevor and Mrs.
If you are on certain benefits you can claim for travel to see spouse Etc, at least in England you can.
Ken.

Hi Guys.
Many thanks for your concern and suggestions.
I think we have everything now worked out. To put you all in the picture our eldest lad owns a local corner shop and works long hours, he will be availble to come up with Anne once or possibly twice, our middle daughter doesn't drive so she's going to go across from work in Glasgow once or twice too but the even better news is that Emma our youngest will be staying with Anne here while I'm in hospital, she drives and as she is a teacher she will be off from the Thursday afternoon after my operation on Wednesday so she will be able to come and bring Anne too.
There is also an adjoining hotel to the Golden Jubilee and Anne will stay for a couple of days nearer my time to be released.
All of this is a weight off my mind and it's put me in a better frame of mind about the operation. I had a pre op yesterday and all went well.

I thank everyone for their kindness here and concern.
Sorry but my thanks button doesn't seem to work on this thread, no idea why as it's OK elsewhere
