Rover 75 fuel pump 130 bhp
Hi iam new to this group after taking charge of Father in laws 2005 cdti
He is now in care home with dementia but kept on reminsing on his beloved rover so I had it moted failed. Welding on 3 jack points on cills and broken coil springs. Iam handy with welder as I restore old Sunbeam Alpines.. So all work done I have been using care for 4 months now and l just love. Love love it. Now to my query It let me down a few times. Think it's intermittent fuel pump gremlins... Single pump system. So now I've removed pump from tank then motor from pump( very good instructions on this forum.. Only extra tip would be soak motor carrier in red hot water it Seperates easily then) Now to point it seems like all motors are for 115hp engine? Are these same motors as 130 hp engine? If not where can I get correct motor..? Iam a tight NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD- so cheap as chips Cheers |

Same pump and same engine, its only the map that's different. Would be worth considering getting the '160' map although other maps are available!

It's certainly a capable engine without a remap but mine was a 116 so the map made a significant difference and for me it wasn't a question of if it needed it but more that it makes it a much more pleasant car to drive with it

Along came the 160 re-map which I had done and the difference is chalk and cheese. Fully recommend the upgrade weather you are towing or not. It is now the car performance wise it should have been from Day 1

Very unusual for the single pump to fail, what are the symptoms?

Unplugged inlet at filter.. No fuel... Power to motor but not whirring Connected to electrics outside tank nothing.. Turned ignition key few times motor eventually started So suspect intermittent fault |

Nip over the water and see the mg rover breakers on English St they will have one in stock, must be from the single pump system as the in tank pump from the twin pump system won’t be any good for you.
