Hi
I have just purchased a set of LHD headlights from Le Boin Coin web site
150 euros the pair.
i checked that they are correct using rimmer Bros part numbers and they seem ideal. All steam ahead for the first CT in France
Going for a CT Wednesady
Wish me luck.

Default Update and for general info.

I have a uk 2005 car with projector lights and today thanks to Baconbuttyman's excellent bumper removal article, I was able to remove the headlights and have a good look at them.

On my car there is a facility on the headlights for adjusting the dipped beam. This comes in the form of a lever - accessible via the main beam compartment - which I believe will cut off the 'flare' to the left, on RHD cars. This would mean my dipped headlights will just have a flat beam which I'm hoping will be enough to get her through her French Contrôle Technique.

The levers on mine were a bit stiff and needed jiggling, but I'm hoping they will work sufficiently for the CT man. I'm waiting 'til it gets dark so I can better see the effect of this adjustment.

Cheers
Dave

Default Update II

Having triggered the lever on both headlights, I now have a perfectly flat dipped beam, so it won't be a problem to oncoming drivers.

I just hope the CT man sees it the same way.

Hello everybody. I'm new here, but some people will know me from elsewhere :-)

Comments like: ''OMG, you're here as well!'', or ''I'm out of here!'', are welcome ;-)

I'm also interested in getting a 2001 RHD MG ZT160 converted to LHD lights. If there are any more tips on how to save money, it would be great. I can pick up a good second-hand ZT or 75 for the price of some lights here in Germany!!!

How did the story with the lever end up? I need to have the vehicle tested soon, so the lights need to be correct. German MOTs/TÜV are tough, so no hope with any stickers, or quick tricks, as far they are concerned. Tough, because it's every two years.

I would consider swapping. Note: I will be in the UK from 20th January; Sussex, Dorset and Hampshire.

Cheers!

I'm still on the lookout for a pair of LHD headlights. Nothing special, just the basics. Will swap if necessary. Thanks

Thought you might be interested in this link http://www.bildelsbasen.se/?link=item&post_id=23767144 it's a breaker's in Malmö, far south of Sweden who has got a pair of xenons (incl. control unit).

No price given but there's a phone number and most Swedes manage English quite well, otherwise I'd be willing to help.

Given the fragile nature might be worth considering a drive as it's not that far from Hamburg.

Good luck
