Myford ML10 is only for starting with, when you get the bug you will move on to bigger boy's toys.

Colchester 2000 is my toy, shame it's buried in the back of my lockup along with the Bridgeport mill

Andy's looks like an ML7 or Super 7 perhaps

I remember seeing the Colchester Lathe company building every day on my way into collage on the train from Clacton many moons ago!

Used to be a very popular place to serve an apprenticeship , it's all long since been knocked down and replaced with a big Tescos......That's progress for you

Edit.....just looked it up and it appears the company is still going but now based in Yorkshire

The World turns on Colchester Lathes as the old saying went.

Did my apprenticeship in the late 1970's, and they were everywhere back then.

Well they were certainly still around in the mid 80's when I was still a fresh face at Thor Tools in North Shields Mike

I had two colchesters and a rather marvellous rambaudi mill, must get another sometime as I still have all the fly cutters and boring tools.

A very nice little lathe Andy. You will now need a small bench grinder to keep your tools and drills sharp.

That should bring you years of pleasure..

PS. Don't forget to have something wooden to stand on whilst working, or you will get tired legs and feet very quickly..
