I'll let you know Gordon, that's the next job on my list as I'm converting a petrol car into a diesel.

It looks fairly daunting, but what the heck in for a penny in for a pound

Hi Gordon.
I presume you have checked for the wiring already in your daily car, to remove the whole loom for the heated memory seats is quite a task, time consuming, if you do remove make sure you take photos of where the wiring goes to the fuse box in the passenger foot well.

You can had the wiring to your own car via a different route, which should be found on a few threads on here.

Again do the same with cruise.

Are you also looking at changing over the seats, if so then that's best time to route the wiring

It'll be far quicker and a thousand times easier just to strip out the relevant sections of the heated seats and cruise loom and then make your own wiring using the guides in my links below than to try and strip out a full car loom and swap it into another car.

I assume your parts car is also a diesel?

If you choose to do it you have to remove a lot of stuff, the heater box has to come out along with the dash, doable but not easy. I'd be waiting till Spring to do it now or go down Rick's route.

Don't bother removing the harness, it is a massive job, I know, I have done it.

I appreciate making a loom may not be appealing but it will I am sure be easier.

I removed a full harness for someone once, its a mammoth task to get everything out without damage.

(And the weight of the full loom is surprising!)

Very wise, last year I helped a friend replace a loom in a Focus that had been singed. He had managed to get a new loom from a dealer for £80 and I can honestly say I wish we had never started it. It fitted but they must have a way of doing it in the factory that makes the hole job a lot easier, 4 days and in my view though it worked some how it just did not seem to fit as nice as the original.

I offer a fitting service for cruise control on a diesel for £120 if you ever fancy taking a trip down to Essex.
