I am taking out my heater matrix tomorow and flush it out and let it soak in some boiling water and coolant flush and see how it goes as when i flushed on car the flow was weaker on the inlet pipe

Sorry to be a pest but in the pic below the 82 degree section is open but the spring behind the disc is not compressed. That means it starts off open or the spring would be compressed by water pressure wouldn't it ???

It must have shorted somehow as the brushes were almost complete.

There isn't an 82C section. The drawing shows the PRT in it's cold state. Coolant leaving the head is flowing into it from the left and out at the top. This outflow goes to the pump inlet. So, as shown, the small pressure relief valve (blue) is fully open and the main thermostatic valve (green) is closed. There's no significant hydraulic pressure on the blue valve because it's fully open and so its spring is uncompressed.

The next stage is when the engine's running normally and the green valve is fully open. Since the blue valve moves left with the green valve as it opens, the blue valve progressively closes off the flow from the left. The flow now is in from the right (from the radiator). The pink spring isn't under much compression in this state. Just enough to hold the blue valve shut (actually there's still some flow even when it's shut).

Increasing the engine revs raises the hydraulic pressure enough to lift the blue valve a little and allow some hot flow from the head to come in and mix with the coolant coming in from the radiator. This means the inflow to the head is warmer at high revs than it would be using a standard thermostat type. This is designed to reduce the cooling shock to the rapidly heating head.

Something tells me that won't be the last flush you'll be doing Ed.
