Hi Marc.
You will have to remove the fan to fit the condenser, so that would be the best time to check the fan out regarding the control box, and its wiring, also the PCB within the control box, once you get to that stage post up what you find if anything, good luck

Thanks Marc. You've got a completely dead radiator fan then. As Arctic says, let us know what you see when you open the control box.

Thanks for all the help so far fellas, it's really appreciated.

Unfortunately sunny Devon wasn't so sunny today.. so no car news unfortunately.

I think I will just buy a replacement fan, and fiddle with the dead one at a later date.
I'm sure I read somewhere about a chinese copy that seems an ok replacement, I'm always dubious though.

Is there a preferred make of fan to buy?

Hi Marc.
If you are going for a new fan then drop Jules a PM he will be able to sort you out with a REVOTEC 2 speed radiator cooling fan kit with Gold resistor.

below is a link to the fan Revotec.

Unfortunately it may not be as simple as that Marc. The diesel uses a special control box containing electronics. If this has failed, or someone has fitted one from a petrol car, then replacing the fan motor won't help and the Revotec is expensive. We have encountered both of these situations before. As you have lost both your fan speeds, it's looking like a control box or wiring problem at the moment.

Don't rush into anything Marc. Your best bet is to check the control box first, then make a decision based on what you find.
