I learnt that a little hand held steam cleaner is rather handy for sprucing up an interior.

I learnt that if one is trying to get a cylinder head off and the turbo/exhaust manifold won't separate after removal of the manifold bolts, then lifting the head up and back at an angle allows removal.

Tried 15mm after they arrived and they were also too big. So I ordered 14mm and when they arrived I was encouraged to see that they came with 4 ridges extending down the body of the item as opposed to the usual circular ridges running around the body. The plan is to carefully trim off two opposing ridges with a box cutter leaving the remaining two opposing ridges to line up with the slots in the connecting hole in the roof trim strip.

Edit: Trimmed in a few seconds and first test fitting is good. Will now cut slots in both remaining ridges with a hacksaw to allow for the item to be rotated a quarter turn as per the oem item to aid retention.

Haven't done anything about it yet but any problem with shortening the fuel pipe that goes into the top of the UBP ? It's probably the highest point under the bonnet and has 'sacrificial' tape wrapped around it at the mo. if this is feasible then I've learned how to stop the pipe chafing and also looking unsightly.

I learned that some folks don't realise that Rover 75s are square at the corners, not round. The lady reversing out of the parking place next to me did not take kindly to my beeping at her before she was going to dink my bumper. When she got out to have a look how close she was, she was amazed!
