Default Halfords and ECP joined at the hip?

I ordered oil and a filter for her VW Polo from Halfords. The oil came from Halfords and the filter is coming from ECP!

Yeah, the Halfords parts system is linked with Euro.
That deal meant Halfords could offer their 1hr Click & Collect service on not just regular stock but most auto motoring spares too as they wanted to be seen as motor factors.
While they don’t make much money, their hope is that people buy other things while in store.

The only thing in Halfords I buy is their aerosol cans of paint. Good stuff.

A bit like Wickes with a Toolstation in store. Price on Wickes shelf £5, price at Toolstation counter £2 but people will still pay the Wickes price, crazy. And they are both owned by Travis Perkins!

Strangely enough I visited both ecp and halfrauds last night. I'd normally just use ebay but wanted quicker stuff. My ecp order disappeared into a black abyss so I had to order my stuff again. When I got to Halfords, it took four members of staff to find my spanner. No wonder online shopping appeals

That’s probably because they made all managers like me who organised everything redundant, and started recruiting utter morons who don’t have a single clue about anything in the shop.
I hear also they are now making all the assistant managers redundant, so rest assured it’s only gonna get worse. Funnily enough I popped into my local store last night for some jubilee clips and was asked by a spotty young girl if I’d help her remove a number plate

Sounds like a great business model... Not sure which store you mean but sorry to hear they did that.

I've only just remembered that about ten years ago I worked at an ECP for a few months, at a time when I knew nothing about cars and also didn't care about them. I was sacked on the spot for raising my voice to a manager but that's a different story.

But yeah I would not walk into either of these shops and ask for advice. Best to do your own research and check the part numbers against what they hand you as 5 times out of 10 it will be a completely wrong part with a part number that's different by one or two digits!

Same as above, aerosol paint and rust remedy, also i did buy a 2.5t quick lift trolly jack that only cost £20.00 as there was a hole in the box (bargain).
They seem more focused on Bikes.
