Many thanks for the photos and explanation Steve, now I have been able to successfully mount the triangle in my boot having located it in the correct place - and it is now staying in place without falling off when I shut the boot lid!

Hope I can make it up there one Sunday Steve, for the last 12 months I've had to work weekends, now landed a permanent job when I get Sundays and Mondays off.
