Default Front window regulator

Hi all, I just want to know where the spring on drivers door window regulator for the nylon cable tensioner/guide is supposed to be mounted, When i took my old one out the long end of the spring was resting on the rail,It is also in the same place on the replacement unit i have just bought, But looking at it there appears to be a steel lug thats doing nothing, Am I right in assuming that the spring should actually be mounted on that lug?, I hope this makes sense!,,,,,Ta!
