Morning all - a lovely bright sunny one too - but cold. Unfortunately, we don't see the sun for long at this time of the year - it's late before it pops up above the Moors, and then soon disappears again.

It's soup weather I've had me peas soaking overnight & there's a fresh tiger loaf bloomer in the bread bin. Fresh out the oven this ham shank to go in a batch of pea soup

Hi folks, to borrow a line from Monty Python’s Meaning Of Life . . . . “I’m not dead!” I have been lurking, just dipping in now and then without logging in to see what’s happening! I have had a lot going on, ongoing medical problems getting me down; I tire easily now, little or no enthusiasm for anything. My other half has quite bad depression, comes and goes; she knows it’s coming, when she feels hyper she knows she’s going to crash soon. It not only affects her but drags me down as well; I get very frustrated because there’s nothing I can do about it. She’s had a lot of grief in the last few years, losing my parents hit her badly, then her own father passed away, her brother and his wife died in a RTA and just about 3 months ago she lost her remaining brother in another RTA. She eventually spoke to her manager (NHS) about it and I finally talked her into phoning the number he gave her but there’s about a six month waiting list!
The girls are all fine, mental as ever, helping keep us sane during this weird time. Seems the only time I’m out is to nip along to the shops every couple of days. We’ve missed our days out on the train, only trip we’ve had was down to Philippine Embassy in London for my other half to renew her passport after her brother died. It took so long to get an appointment at the embassy (couple of months!) the closest we got to the funeral was one of the nieces videoing it and we watched online.
Need to go for now, shopping time again!

Lonely days are long
Twilight sings a song
All the happiness that used to be

Soon my eyes will close
Soon I'll find repose
And in dreams, you're always near to me

I'll see you in my dreams
And then I'll hold you in my dreams

Cool

Nice to see you back Steve.

I’m just back from my annual medical review. Seems my heart beat is slow and steady for a man of my age. Blood pressure spot on. Still got all the feelings in my nerves in my feet. My urine test was spot on, stopped drinking falling down water 3 weeks ago. The nurse took a armful of blood. And I get the final results next Wednesday.

Just had my 5th negative COVID-19 test come back. Finished the 5 week course, now being tested once a month for the next 11 months. And I get paid for it at £25 per test. I opt for the Tesco vouchers but there plenty of other outlets you can choose.

We had almost given up hope on you Steve, Phil will be pleased to see you back as he often messaged me asking if I had heard from you. It’s good to have one of the original “rat pack” members back.
