For the usual detractors I hope you all have the same attitude if a friend or family member catches it.

If it's confirmed then there could hardly be a fitter or healthier individual to recover. After all, the pathology for him is possibly no more than a head cold. I wish him well.

As much as I dislike his attitude, his almost bullying approach to insist people participate in his opinion of things, I have to accept he is one of the best current F1 drivers ( I think Verstappen has the edge). I certainly wouldn't wish this Virus on a single human being having seen the devastation first hand it can cause.

Can you post your evidence for this? You sound a tad contrite.

I think that the only fitness that counts is that of his IMMUNE system.--
Having a generally fit body must help but if your immune system is slightly defective you're going to suffer like everybody else.

Just my opinion that's all.

Personally I'm hoping Hamilton isn't fit for Abu Dhabi, I'd love to see what Russel can do when the Mercedes team doesn't balls it up!

My oldest son works for a Formula one team, he was telling me apparently a lot of people are also hoping Russel can get into the Mercedes this weekend.

As good as Hamilton is it will prove that someone else could win if they were in that car.

Unfortunately if Russell does win, or adds more ability to his showing last weekend, it only shows he is as hard a charger (and bullish) as Hamilton- but with more of the humility that Hamilton showed in '08.

I bet that Bottas is praying, Hamilton gets better lol.

----------------------------------------

I havent read of conspiracy theories, but the mess up in the garage could have been on purpose - a Hamilton/Bottas fan boy mechanic perhaps, or simply a Mercedes higher up, pulling a plug so they didnt have to report back to the board declaring why they are paying $50 million (or whatever his salary is) for Hamilton when Russell could do the job for 5% of that! But then Mercedes are not Ferrari cough cough '99.

One thing I noticed, perhaps missed it, is a lack of public support from Hamilton towards Russell. There was an interview with Russell, where he was asked if Hamilton had been in touch. He replied by saying, 'He [Russell] had sent him a message, but had yet to hear back from him'

If this remains true, it says a lot of the *ahem* sportsman

Hamilton is fit and practising for this weekends race, Russell back to Williams. It will be interesting to see if Russell is inspired by last weekends performance.
