Changing the mileage/VIN, this is something I need to do after transfering the backup to the car?
Toaf will display the part number in a box called Module details below the main errors window. eg
NR YWC105020
VIN YM161626
ODO 152300km
and more

Yes, you will need to change the ODO + VIN numbers if using another LSM. Even if you're just taking a back-up from the other LSM and using "restore" to your existing LSM you'll still need to do it as the restore file will change the ODO + VIN of your existing unit and your existing LSM will inherit any modifications the donor had. Hope this makes sense and I'm pretty sure this is how it works.

Keep well

I have played around with TOAF and DRL settings on my newly acquired -99 1.8 and have now lost my sidelights....

I did not take a backup before I started...

Seems like this thread answers the most regarding this issue!?!

There is a LCM file to download in this thread that have worked for several members with this issue, but I read that your advice is not to do it as it migth not suit my specific LCM. The file seems to be not available from the link anymore anyway...

So, it seems that taking a backup from the LCM in my V6 and transfer it to the 1.8 might be the best option? The V6 has a build date two weeks later than my 1.8 so i assume the LCM and settings from factory are the same, but I can check this through TOAF? Is there any modifications needed to be done to the backup file before tranfering it to the 1.8?

Any advice are greatly appreciated

Hi fellow Norwegian...

Wonder why you dont reach out for more help.
Been playing around with TOAF since It came In 2016 and I know tons of stuff about It...Both the pitfalls and joys...

One of the LCM options (30% DRL ) are codeed wrong depending on what car you have...The rest is tip top..

If you need help I can fix your car through TeamViewer...

Set up both my R75s and ZT-T with TOAF but you need to be familliar with car diagnostics and BACKUP everything before changes...

Update:

All working now!
Looking through this thread, it seems like the LCM file which is available at the TOAF website works on the earlier LCM units. Mine had the same part no as the one the thread starter has, so I gambled and used that file. I also realized that I had not installed the latest version of TOAF on my computer. So what I did:
1. Updated TOAF to the latest version
2. Backed up my LCM settings, took screenshot of the VIN and mileage.
3. Restored the LCM file from the TOAF website.
4. No need to alter mileage, but copied VIN from the EWS to the LCM.
5. All well! sidelights back on and DRL working as they should. I now have sidelights only with the switch in mid position and engine running.

Pretty happy with this now For all i know, the sidelight missing issue is something that had to do with the earlier version of TOAF?

Glad you got fixed. What TOAF version did you install, and can you copy the link to the site please? I'd like to check if I'm up to date. Thanks.
