Now, now, positive thinking is what's needed now Hector. Who's to say that it will be the most economical and reliable repair that you've ever made?

I'd certainly have a go at cleaning up that copper track and soldering in a length of thick wire. You've got nothing to lose! Your 3 wire motor has given extremely good service and can continue to do so. The resistor system introduces unreliability. The two exposed brushes have loads of life left in them. Can you coax the other shy two out of hiding in their holders and photograph them?
