Then I said “you cannot come in because of Covid and he tried to be intimidating saying our repairs were not up to standard but he could offer me protection from being arrested. Basically he was looking for a bribe. I was disappointed by his visit, which put a downer on the day.

Morning Phil, what a lousy thing to have to put up with after all the work you've put into the house. It must be very hard to bite your lip with these people.

Evening all - we appear to have been bypassed by much of the recent bad weather. Firstly, we we were threatened with heavy snow last weekend - didn't see a flake; then we were warned of torrential rain Tuesday/Wednesday & Thursday - a few heavy showers only - although there's still 24 hours for a downpour.
I've spent virtually all day on my laptop -
  1. Finalising the local allotment society's annual accounts
  2. Helping our treasurer to do the annual accounts for the Club - doubt the word profit will appear this year
  3. Downloading, installing and testing Zoom on both the PC and my 'phone
Time to give my eyes a rest I reckon
