My old 16 year old Toller gave us a scare last night - he did the splits on a slippery floor a few days back and has been very stiff and sore.
This morning he could not get up and had wet his bed. Vet said he is fine just sore - bloods are fine too - just slightly elevated urea but for 16 year old dog they reckon he is doing pretty well. He is weeing and pooing fine now - he is on pain killers now as he has a very stiff pelvis and hips. At 16 we know where this is going - but not just yet I pray. |

I'd imagine if you did the splits you'd be stiff and on painkillers as well.
16 is a fair age but our Milka (Toy Poodle) was over 18 when he left us. |

Our Poppy is becoming a problem child, twice in last 4 days met neighbour and his dog on our walk. She picked up the dogs ball and ran away with it,couldn't run after her so walked quickly Got back to the house to find her sitting on doorstep with ball under paws. I am sure she was laughing.
Last evening she had a wild 15 mins, ripped her bed to shreads, jumped up on sofa and nipping the wifes' fingers. Might have to book a pet psychoanalysis appointment.

Poppy had her 1st haircut today. Now she looks like a Shih Tzu rather than a fireside bear rug.

my wife has recounted a similar story to me but I've never really believed it until today.
Our cat was sitting on a bar stool in the kitchen meowing. She had been fed but still meowed. I gave her a stroke and she stopped. No sooner had I stopped she meowed. This is what I had never believed. I got the cats brush and stood in the conservatory, showed it to her and said "come on then". The cat jumped off the barstool and came into the conservatory, I went outside onto the grass and she followed. I started to bush her and then spent 5-10 minutes bushing. The amount of fur that came away was amazing, thought she was going to go bold. I stopped at one point but she looked at me asking for more. She loved it. my wife says if she shows the cat the brush the cat will come to her and lay down to be brushed. macafee2 |
