Hi can anyone tell me if this is the correct box to convert my highline 4:3 tv to digital? I have put pictures of the one I have found on my blog at ...

https://mgztinfo.wordpress.com/2020/...al-tv-modules/

If it is - is it a straight swop?
Many thanks for any ideas.

That’s the digital tv module , straight swap if you have a wide screen. But I’m not sure whether it will work with 4:3 .

It does. Widescreen TV modules work fine with 4:3 screens.

I did myself, a few years ago, and yes it did work well.
Mind you, this solution is now obsolete in many countries, because the hybrid BMW tuner only has MPEG2 decoding, which many countries (France included) now longer use since the switch to HD TV (which uses H264 encoding). So these hybrid tuners are now as useless as the standard analog tuners we had from factory.
What you may want (and which I have) is another TV tuner solution that actually uses original BMW video modules but rebuilt with new TV-Tuner capabilities. They are plug'n'play as well and would operate either from the screen controls or from a supplied infrared remote.
This is the one I bought a couple of years ago :

You also have the simila Carphonics solution : http://www.carphonics.co.uk/digitaltv.htm
