windscreen visibility.

The visibility through my windscreen seemed a bit iffy and I have over time, after cleaning inside and out and getting others with strong right arms to do the same put it down to old car, old glass etc. But it still annoyed me so I got some matt black fabric I had in the garage and just laid it on the front of the facia. I was pleased and amazed to see it improved the situation, I then got my wife to sit in the passenger seat and she confirmed my findings. Then in the interest of accuracy I got my very picky/negative neighbour to carry out the same test and he also agreed with us. The car an MGZT in pearl black with the standard inside trim for the model. I have used it for the last 10 days including some longish trips and recommend it. Chris.S.

Now continuing this thread: I got some black velour finish Fablon and cut that to size and stuck it to the top of the facia, it is very good, much better visibility night and day. But cosmetically it looks rubbish because 1. its very awkward to install and 2. and more importantly the plastic of the dash Im sticking the Fablon on has some very "unstick to" finish. I did clean it and used panel wipe prior to sticking it but it starts to uncurl at the edges. Anyone any knowledge or experience of what the finish is or how to treat it? I have considered a Matt black paint but that is a step to far perhaps. Any ideas gratefully received and a Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you all. Chris.S.

If you are looking for a more professional finish, finding a car upholstery specialist to cover it in black alcantara.

If you haven't got airbags in A pillars, the trim there and the fascia panels are easy enough to remove. Cut the material a bit bigger and tuck it in?
Or just use something heavier that will stay in place with its own weight or anti slip mat below it

Thanks Kearton that sounds to be the answer-why didnt I think of that, I will try to sort something out when Im out of T4!!!! And thanks to others, especially the goggles, might suit me, go with my leathers. Chris.S
