They are sealed, with a circular spring or clip. Some inject more grease using a syringe, I've never bothered but each to their own. Maybe the supplier of mine, DMGRS could advise, never had one fail from him even after years of fitting.

All of the droplinks I have replaced with have had a coil of fine steel (like a cheap key ring) used to seal the boot. Ease this off, and add some hub grease (there is no harm in doing it). Give it a good swivel around and add a little more, then refit the boot. If the boots are sealed with some kind of glue, clean and degrease the area well then a little superglue should work. I have not had to replace any beyond the originals due to failure, but replaced when trying to isolate a clunk, or the struts were replaced.

I usually remove the rubber boot and add more grease. Sometimes they are already well greased and sometimes there is a very small blob of grease on the lead in to the ball but the ball is dry!

Only use lubricants suitable for plastic/nylon as lubes for steel can wear the socket! White grease type ?
