I use Zaino tyre dressing. Does a fantastic job on any plastics etc.,grained or not. A couple of coats, no rubbing off, job done. Need to be a bit careful when applying so as not to get it everywhere, but it will polish off glass and paintwork with a little patience.
Over here the sun can turn black plastics grey in a few weeks. Mick |

Can these products be used to polish up the black trim between the windows as the ZT's have gone a bit patchy and discoloured?
As an aside I've noticed over the months that the build quality and finish is better on the Rover compared to the MG. Alloys on the ZT are poor and that's the newer car with half the mileage! Said black trim as above and body paint work is more prone to scratches than the R75... |

Didn't the poster in the original thread mention peanut butter but then someone said that they went up Tesco's and bought some groundnut oil and that worked really well although the brand new sheen started to dull again within about 2 to 3 weeks.
Apparently the oil in peanut butter and the groundnut is more or less the same stuff according to the people who gave it a try. |

Alternative method
After reading the original thread I looked on the clubs valeting thread and found a thread on a similar thin and an entry saying that the best way t restore the colour is to use a heat gun on it.
