I had this done a few years ago. Talking to several dealers beforehand I was told that Superchips are quite conservative with their claims. Also, since they publish detailed results, insurance companies are prepared to accept them at face value. I was after more low down torque for more flexibility and better economy and explained this carefully to my broker and giving them the published details. The result was only a 10% loading. The dealer I got to do it had a dyno., so I paid for a before & after test too. I also had an ITG freer flowing air filter added at the dame time. (TIP: If you go this route & have a dyno run too, change your oil before hand.) The results: Before: My car had a bit more power than standard. (132 bhp vs 129). Afterwards: It had 153bhp and was a lot more tractable - able to pull 30 mph in 5th even on a slight incline. the extra torque is noticeable form about 1500 rpm Fuel consumption is about the same. It is a bit smoky on full throttle from low speeds - but that this not something I tend to do. IMO it could still do with some more torque between idle @ 800 rpm & 1500 rpm. HTH Regards, Kearton |

Thanks kearton that's good to know there seems to be low down torque with them, I think I know where I going now. I don't want to much power just low down and spread out
