First thing I'd do with a 1.8 before any modding is replace the HG with the new ones.
At least then it can handle the extra workload that modding would bring.

Superchips do an engine map upgrade which they say adds 8 bhp. (No more detail than that. For the diesels they show sample dyno data.) I've been told that they are quite conservative in their claims.
At the other end of the scale, Judd do a 2-litre version of the K-series (the engine which MG used in the ZS for production racing. ;-) Adding the turbo might be cheaper. Cheers, Kearton |
