Interesting read there Simon, Thanks
I'd not heard of or seen this before.
Looking at all the reviews they do seem to work as intended to reduce the emission especially on leaded cars and Improves throttle response and MPG slightly too with a probable 2 bhp gain on our 1.8 K-Series

If i come across one cheap I'd give it a try!

First thing I'd do with a 1.8 before any modding is replace the HG with the new ones.

At least then it can handle the extra workload that modding would bring.

Superchips do an engine map upgrade which they say adds 8 bhp. (No more detail than that. For the diesels they show sample dyno data.) I've been told that they are quite conservative in their claims.

At the other end of the scale, Judd do a 2-litre version of the K-series (the engine which MG used in the ZS for production racing. ;-) Adding the turbo might be cheaper.

Cheers,
Kearton
