they do seem bright, maybe a switch should be fitted for night use.

i think you could attract attention from the boys in blue.

I read in the (Car Builder Solutions Catalogue) that the IVA construction rules (which may not a ply to retro fit installations) for DLRs are that they MUST be wired to switch off when the headlights come on. They offer a DLR wiring kit with the requisite relays for about £17.

I agree though that most OEM DLRs are much too bright even in daylight, the worst being Audis & Mercedes. I think Volvo's original implementation was about right. It used a 21w indicator bulb.

Completed the DLR install today, bumper off job etc. Installed a switch next to the light control switches so can turn the lights off at night if they prove to be too bright.

Unfortunately I didn't. Didn't even think of taking pics to be honest. But wish I had now. I'm going to the midlands nano meet next weekend so I will try and remember to take my camera and take some pictures of how I installed them. Due to work I won't be able to get round to it any sooner.

I'm a bit lost here, why do you want your lights on during daylight?

If another drivers eyesight is so poor he can't see your car, having some lights on aint going to help you!

Have you seen the new Audi DRL / LED Running lights?

i'm sure the answer is yes... everyone has. Usually with an insult at the end... but everyone notices it!

A car is not hard to see, but often people see the car, but don't register it. A bright brilliant white light forces you to register that theres a car there.

Unfortunately most people can't drive very well... DRL's are (imo) a great safety feature, thus why (some rather rubbish ones) are on my car.
