All sorted now. Nice new screen in the car.

Not the best experience but easily fixed with lots of phone calls and not taking a weeks delay as an acceptable answer from the insurance company.

Lesson to be learned. Challenge the insurance company all the time and don't take any first answers..

I wanted the screen fixed and I was darned well going to have it fixed.

Yes it meant a day working form home but not a big deal. At least I saved a tenner in fuel meaning the fix only cost me £50

Good on you. Nice to hear of someone actually getting the service they pay for from an insurance company.

If you think there is a risk of it happening again, you might want to have some security film fitted. Most companies that fit window-tinting film will offer it. It is a clear film rather than tinted, blocks about 97% of UV and stronger than the tinting film which gives toughened glass the same resilience as laminated glass.

Regards,
Kearton

That sounds like a very good idea - I think I'll look into that. Is there anything from your experience that I should look out for in particular?
