I've had it on some of my windows for a while with no significant problems. If it goes on the rear window, there may be a slight distortion where it goes over the heated rear window elements. I noticed it at night when it was done, but it doesn't bother me now.

It won't stop the glass breaking if hit hard enough, but it will hold it together when broken making it much more difficult to get past for a burglar.

Regarding the point insurance discounts: I did ask, but they said 'No'; although I hadn't had all my windows done with security film. I've always mentioned it in the list of changes, just in case some insurance companies do.
