Default What does this do?

Not a Technical problem, more of a curiosity.

What is the copper coloured tube with a Blue cap for just to teh left of the Accelerator cable?

I noticed by removing the Blue Cap there appears to be a Valve of some sort. Is this used to depressurise the Fuel system or something else? I looked in Haynes but find no reference to it whatsoever.

Sorry for being thick, but if you don't ask, you will never learn

You can depressurize the system there but you'll get an eyefull of petrol and is not the correct method. The correct method is to pull the fuel pump fuse and run the engine till it dies.

Cheers I learned something new

Never even crossed my mind it would be for testing the Fuel pressure

Also quite useful for bleeding the air out when you have had the fuel rail in bits

FYI a Schraeder valve is just the type of valve, not it's purpose. Schraeder valves use rubber seals are what are used for tyres on cars and some bicycles. Bicycles which run higher pressures use a different type of valve with a screw-down metal seal. These are 'Presta' valves.
