CD noise
Hi,
I just purchased a 54 reg 75 with the highline sat nav. My problem is that when I select to play a cd all I get through the speakers is a white noise that sounds just like static no matter which disc or track I choose to play. Any ideas?? Sorry I have posted this in the wrong section. Last edited by .....; 6th November 2011 at 16:08.. |

a simple check first. Are you using the right format CD? Any pre-recorded CD should be OK, but if you have one you've recorded yourself it needs to be of the CD-R type and the files must not be in MP3 format. (I think the correct file format is 'wav'.) Does the Hi-line indicate that it can see the CD player? If yes, does the number of the track that it is trying to play appear on the screen? If so, it is reading the CD layout but having problems reading the individual files so it may be a CD problem rather than a player problem. Next it is possible that there is a poor connection between the CD player and the head unit. Someone with more knowledge will be along shortly. Hope this helps, Kearton |

Hi Kearton,
yes I have loaded the changer cartridge with both types of cd. The display on the screen shows the cd player. It will also show which number cd is playing and which track. I can select different cd's and also change the tracks on each cd that are playing so the player must be able to recognize that they are in there.Unfortunately all I hear for every cd and track is this white noise like static. It's a weird one. However it's a great car. |
