I hope you didn't laugh in his face, the fad is surely dying now isn't it?

Been in it today, very bland interior, seems underpowered especially up hills.
Still my colleague thinks the fuel consumption is fantastic, and is that right no road tax.

Environmentally they are a con. The batteries are terrible for the environment and making them and disposing of them leaves a huge carbon footprint.
As cars they are stodgy and dull to drive, like most Toyotas, and rather slow. Economy wise thewy are pretty good, BUT the ofset is the cost. Given what you actually get for your money you would be better buying a non hybrid that cost less and was better trimmed.

I'd rather use public transport than one of those things.
Hate them. Many a morning on my way home after a nightshift I get stuck behind one, pootling along at a steady 37mph. The driver oblivious (or uncaring) about the 2 mile convoy he's leading of traffic wanting to get past. |

Its a LOT, but they have a long warranty. Even so second or third users in 15 years are going to suffer. Similar cost to a new engine for a normal car.

Told him that but apparently it wasn’t an issue , the overriding issue was comfort
