Thrilling Ambition
A young chap I know of, is aged 25 years and a bit of a lazy slob, but no worries, he has declared to his family that he wants to become a "fork lift truck driver!", there's no limit to his ambition.

Well at least he wants to work! It could be a good career choice if he is a "lazy slob" as most of the time he will be sat down! I have no problem with people wanting to pay their way in this world.

My nephew took the fork lift test, but his employers were always instructing him to move items beyond what he considered safe.
Guess what ? ..... he's no longer with them or driving fork lifts. |

I cannot make sense of the opening post. Are we expecting everyone to aspire to be a surgeon, scientist or PM?

When the company worked for re-located from Essex to Norfolk I went as well as I was the only one with a FLT licence. They supplied me with a van, they paid the fuel. I only worked 4 days a week and my travelling time was in my working time. And I got to keep the van at weekends. And a wage rise was in the pipeline, the endless pipeline.
