Default ZT Owners Advice!

Hi Everyone,

I wonder if anyone could help answer this question for me.

I was an owner of a MG-ZT190 a couple of years ago.... I loved it but unfortunately due to job circumstances and then the clutch pedal being pressed in and not able to return (cost of repair). I had to, with a heavy heart, sell the car. I really loved that car.

However, I am now wanting to buy another one: 2002 MG ZT 190, 76000 miles. £900 ono. Whilst i know the car is very thirsty and a little heavy on the tax band, could anyone give me some pointers or things I should be looking out for if I do buy this one? Or even anythings I should consider?

To note: With the help of my father, we managed to do the timing belt + water pump in the old car, the Vis-vales and the power stearing pump ourselves.

I know this post might be a little general, but any tips or tricks to checking the car before I buy it would be deeply grateful from fellow 75 + ZT owners.

Thanks everyone.

Cheers!

Hi,
At that mileage you need to know if clutch ,master and slave cylinder has been changed! Other things are rear suspension arms (called upper but look like lower to me!!) where the spring sits in the base, brake pipes, sunroof drains (if it has them!!) also make sure the cooling fan is working! I dare say others will be along in a moto mention other things!

Cool

Shame clutch pedal return may of just been master cylinda needing a bleed ? i have a slightly higher mileage one and my clutch is fine other then replacing master cylinda myself brought from DMGRS,other things as mentioned above plus plenums are clean and dirt free, shannon tube in one piece, bonnet mod, water leaks in the boot,no coolant in the V then the usual checks..Good luck

Best thing you can do is read the buyers guide. It covers everything to look out for in all models.
