Default All set

Well, I’m all set for my long trek to the Nationals meet this weekend. I will be heading in the early hours of Friday, so in about 6 hours time! I’ve packed my stuff in the car for the long journey ahead. My alarm is set for an early start. I will be travelling the 474 miles from home to Reigate and will be staying with my good friend Keith from the forum (keithst24) for a few nights. The plan is to get there early afternoon on Friday to avoid the bank holiday traffic (we’ll see about that). I’ll be cleaning my car in the afternoon for the nationals meet on the Sunday so I can then relax. I need to pop down the high street and get myself some trousers as I teared my good ones.
Keith has booked us a table for two in a fancy Thai restaurant nearby for the evening so I’m looking forward to some dinner. I’ll bring the bubbly!
It’s also Keith’s birthday so hope to celebrate this with him in style.

We will be out first thing on Saturday morning to pick up Keith’s car from Chris’ as Keith has got his car, Bumble detailed by Chris in time for the nationals meet. I look forward to seeing how much better Grey can actually look...

I’ve not visited London for many many years and have always wanted to go back so Keith agreed to take me into London for the rest of the day once we drop his car back off home so I’m really looking forward to Saturday! I’ve packed my camera so hope to get a couple of good shots.

Sunday of course is then the day of the nationals which I’m really looking forward to. I attended my first nationals meet last year at Eden camp and enjoyed it and met a lot of new faces. I may be meeting up with a few other members that slick Rick-sta is trying to organise before hand to convoy with so that should be fun.
Anyway, off to doze off for a few hours for the long drive in the morning. I’ll keep you all updated. So, if you see me in my royal blue 75 travelling down the M74, A66, A1, give us a flash.

It will also be this 75s last long distance meet as her future is now uncertain. I just hope she doesn’t disappoint. She is getting on a bit now and I think it’s time to call it a day with this one...but who knows? Night all.

That's some journey. I know what it's like, as between 1996 and 1997 back in my RAF days I used to commute every weekend between Bordon in Hampshire and Boddam in Aberdeenshire - it's around 590 miles one way and took about ten hours if I didn't stop (apart from one fuel top up). Have a good journey and enjoy your time out and about with Keith before the national. See you in Liphook.

Thanks, everyone. So I’m all strapped in and ready to roll. Just fuelled her up and got some snacks for the long drive down. I’m really excited now. Looking forward to meeting you all.

All crammed in including my Nike Air Bethlehem’s.

Here she is. Will be getting a clean shortly. Don’t judge.

Just topped her up with some redex and filled her up.

Would love to tell you what MPG I will be getting but there’s more lines on my IPK then on Daniella Westbrook’s coffee table.

I’m really going to miss this little one. She’s my baby.

Snacks

And away I go. See you all soon.
