Cumrudragon Breathes fire into Powerfolds
Today was powerfold day and a HUGE thanks to Andrew / Cumrudragon for helping me if not practically fitting and wiring single handed whilst I just kept the coffee flowing on this chilly day. Some scratching of heads as we thought wiring was wrong but nope was a dodgey switch. Second switch in place and whirrrrr we were off.
I am ecstatic with the look of my shiny chrome bullet POWERFOLDS. Many many thanks Andrew and thanks for letting me take your black beast for a spin. Wow so pleased. pics if wanted will follow

I couldn't get a Rover one but Andrew had a very neat square one from a Peugeot I think and it sits very nicely next to my scangauge.
(Sorry about pic quality - it was getting dark and I used my mobile)

Are they OE switches or just a home-made version?

They are in stock at Rimmers bit expensive mind but worth it imho to look original. Ed. |

Refuse to pay that when something is free and does the job exactly the same, after all it's just a switch. For me going fom skull cap to bullet powerfolds was the plus and my powerfold switch has 2 extra switches on it awaiting me to find some more gizmos to attach.

As long as you are happy with it then that is all that counts.
I would rather the OEM look myself. I would also not want the switch located down there, is it not awkward to get to and operate? How have you fixed it to the underside of the dash? I would imagine it is hard to get a fixing into the foam? It looks a bit wonky in the picture but it might just be a bad picture. But as you say why pay the money (£110 for a new one) to look original when you can make do with an old switch from a Peugeot. Ed. Last edited by capese21; 14th December 2009 at 08:56.. |

No location is fine. If anything I find the light switches a pain as I have to lean forward to reach them. I have added far too many gadgets and gizmos to my car for it ever to look original again. The cassestte player was the first thing to go and upgrade to latest technology. Move foreward I say and get that car updated
