Tyre Pressures
Just reading thru' the forum catching up on the weeks threads when a subject caught my eye. It was mentioned in one of the threads that some members have a tyre pressure of 40psi or so. The theory being of longer tyre life.
What do members think of this theory? Does this theory work? Is there a safty issue? We all want our tyres to last longer and perhaps this issue could help members to decide if it's worth it or not.

I run on 32 psi winter and 36 psi summer, but bear in mind the higher the pressure (above recommended) the less grip you get...

With the correct pressure you will get the best use and life out of your tyres.
Over inflate and the middle will wear out first. Under inflate and the sides will wear out first. But, what the hell, it's your money and if you want to throw it away that's your prerogative. Lol. Colvert. |

I run 32 in the front and 34 in the rear the reason i run slightly more in the rear is i normally have the kids in, and ive never had any problems,

Rover recommended pressures
In my rover handbook technical data 9pp 234 it gives 32 psi front and rear for almost all models, the odd one being 34 psi.

Surely, over inflating your tyres is going to compromise grip and handling...
