Default gear oil cdt

Been advised to change my gear oil to fully synthetic, due to a noise in the gearbox. The manual recommends texaco mtf94, been to a local motor factor, who ordered me some, but its not the same, its carlube epw75 hypoid gear oil ,fully synthetic.
Will this be ok,or does it have to be MTF94

its a whine, that only occurrs when clutch is pressed ,similar to picking up engine noise through an unsuppressed car radio,it increases with the revs.

Only when clutch is pressed ? so ,in my opinion that's rather clutch bearing related ...

As Mike says, the insides of the gearbox don't move when you de-clutch.

Must be the slave cylinder cos the bearing on that starts to spin when you dis -engauge the clutch.
