Default Dampers.

First off, I was a bit slow thinking a front road spring gave a smooth ride over bumps, but it is of course, the dampers that even out the bumps. The springs are responsible for the ride height. I'm still confused about the numbers and colour codes (sticker under the back seat) There are hundreds of sellers on e-bay and other places offering springs/dampers etc for our cars. They just quote 'Rover 75 cdt/v6/1.8' or whatever. Is there really any point in delving into colour codes and pairs of numbers?

I didn't bother with my colour, just bought some rear bmw e46 coil springs, nice and cheap, fit good too.

When I got my rear shocks a few months ago I was told not to worry about colour codes or the like, not for non genuine stuff anyway.

I would like to know if anyone knows if 75 shocks will physically fit an MG though? As of in do the shorter springs fit ok?
