Thumbs up 1917

Anyone seen this? Just watched it in 4K, what a visual and cinematic treat. Best one shot film I've seen. Must see if you haven't already. Thought it was going to be one of those CGI rubbish, but it's not.

I was very impressed by the camera work too. I love rolling evolving sequences in movies, really puts you in the scene. It was filmed in two sequences if I recall correctly, to look like one.
If you like movies shot this way, another recent one I was impressed with, was Extraction. Although it isnt the best movie ever, the cinematography is pretty darn impressive and due to the more involving combat and action sequences, the camera work is particularly sweet. Though I think the sequences were CGI merged in blurred close ups from explosions and fight scenes. Its still very well done and give the movie an edge as its very lively.

A lot more than two sequences. According to Sam Mendes (the director), the longest continuous sequence was only 8.5 minute long. It makes the whole thing even more impressive to my mind, as it really does seem like one continuous shot.

A very impressive film.
