I'd have thought the main requirements for a school bus were a thick skin and a weapon of some description!

When I was helping my mate out with his taxi business we had council contract school runs. All school runs had to have a council vetted escort for the child.

The most thorough vetting I ever had was for being involved in the Commonwealth Heads Of Government train. No surprise really considering who the passengers were. Royal train coaches, took them from Edinburgh to Leuchars to play golf at St Andrews then back again. It was about a 14 hour day, sat in the siding at Leuchars for about 8 hours, the other Driver Manager and myself were told we'd be fed . . . . we got one bacon roll in the Royal train security coach! Thankfully there was a Scotrail DMU for transporting the armed Police sitting there as well, we knew the Driver Manager on it and raided the food trolley they had.

The big white elephant got a wash and brush up yesterday, ready for her summer home

Beer by the lake, rod in hand what could be better

And our neighbour is Her Majesty,I wonder if we will get an invite for tea

Cool

Morning everyone.

High clouds again but at least it is bright.

Had my 2nd jab yesterday afternoon, was asked even more different questions. Was told that I might suffer from side effects after the Pfizer jab. So far nothing.

And today I have actually managed to secure a doctors appointment having had two consultations over the phone.

Managed to get the second coat of decking paint done yesterday. Looking a whole lot better. Still not finished though, there is still a few wooden structures that need a coating.

Morning all from a damp, drizzly, cool Midlands.

Partial success yesterday as managed to get the Tourer washed. Still got the sun visor to do.

More bird food needed - they're scoffing it at a huge rate now and the woodpecker and nuthatch are back .

Have a happy one.

Were you not allowed Austin, Morris, Triumph, Vauxhall or even a Rover?

I'm not sure that the Special Branch officers will approve of you holding your rod where the Queen might see it .

Unless it's a particularly large and special rod in which case the invite for tea might be coming.
