Default coding replacement key

I managed to "fry" my key in the microwave and following Marinabrian's "How To"

https://the75andztclub.co.uk/forum/s...d.php?t=271435 post#2,

although the dialog boxes for "add code" and "enter password" open ok nothing further happens
and Toaf version 43 stays on "reading keys"

Is it likely I've "fried" the chip as well ?
Thanks,
Malc

Did you accidentally turn the microwave on?

It has probably fried the lot to be honest if it was turned on. Do you have a spare key? If you do and fancy a trip down to Cannock down the M6 I can check the key.

I can program replacement internals if you need it. I can also come to you if you don't have a spare.

Thanks Jamie. We used to have a car with keyless entry and for security,we kept the keys in the microwave as it acted as a Faraday cage and blocked any signals. We kept all other keys there as as well. After the clocks went forward I was changing the time on the microwave and accidentally pressed the wrong button!
The keys to my wife's C-max were in there and that cost £280 to put right.
And that's not the end of it - my wallet was in there as well and it fried my credit card, debit card, bus pass and club card
Anyway I had a spare working key and while the "fried" key works ok manually, I just thought I could I could get the remote working again. I bought a replacement key and swapped over the PCB but no luck.
I'll perhaps have a run down to Cannock one day soon
