Unhappy Refitting Rear Seat Cushion

Hi

Have removed my existing cloth rear cushion and fitted my replacement leather one. I have managed to clip down on the two rear wire clips and the push down at front on driver's side. However, I cannot seem to get the passenger side front fixing to clip in despite all sorts of pushing, shoving, etc. Any ideas?

Chris

There is an art...ideally,a piece of wood with a "v" cut in the end helps.Or,if you can slide your hand in & push the wire over the hook on the floor,& then press down at the front.Probably need a couple of attempts.

The only way i've found on all my 75's is to kneel in the footwell, facing the rear with your knees pushing into the squab, then banging the edge firmly down!

Hi

Thanks, I have managed to get the back clip in (sticking my hand in-see bruises) but can't seem to get front one done. Ok at other side too!

Ah,then you need to push the seat back as hard as you can,& then press firmly,as has been said, both knees on the top.

Hi

Cheers mate. Will give it a go. No hurry as I need to take it out again when wiring in my new leather seats.

I struggled with the RHS front clip. More in anger than expectation I hit the seat directly over the clip area with a rubber headed mallet and to my amazement it went in straight away. Violence really does pay sometimes
