Have a look at the actual pick-up magnetic ring on the bearing as it's common to find rust flakes there from the brake plates. Sometimes, if you're lucky, it could just be a case of cleaning/removing any debris on the ring, otherwise change the bearing.

Got an idea there is a minimum distance/speed before the ABS settles down and the light goes out but a short drive 100m up the road and back should be enough.

Regards

The oil seal on the wheel bearing contains magnets, these form the "reluctor ring"

What will have happened in your case is the brake backplate will have expanded with rust where it is bolted to the stub axle, and as a result it will have been rubbing on the seal and damaged the face.

Because the ABS signal is momentarily lost, you end up with a plausibility error, and the ABS light comes on.

The cure is a clean up of the brake backplate, and a new rear wheel bearing.

Have fun, it could be a lot worse you could have been fixing the same type of fault on the wife's Freelander, and it's taken me two days

On the plus side, at least the reluctor rings are available separately for the Freelander, unlike the 75 and ZT

It's fairly easy, slacken the handbrake at the lever and the adjuster for the brake shoes, brake calliper & disc off and then the whole hub. Never had a problem removing the hubs or had to use a puller. The only difficulty has been with the brake shoes which sometimes don't want to retract and bind but as you've changed sensors twice it's the next logical step, unless someone has other ideas.

Have a look at backplates using the search, I'm sure Arctic has a few pictures there of the possible build up of rust which then can cause ABS problems.

But as MarinaBrian has pointed out, you might be looking at a replacement hub.
