Default 1.8 Exhaust Backbox Required

I'm in need of the above. I would prefer the original out of sight item. What are my options, are they still available?

A friend came down the garage a month or so ago with one of these from eBay, the hanger arm had come away, poor quality if I’m honest, however others might have had other/better experiences

Thanks Mick. I must say, l'm tempted to see if mine will weld up. The original weld has broken where the pipe enters the box. It's not blowing but it's allowing the box to move & hit the bodywork which l've cured temporarily with a block of wood jammed between the box & the rail on the underside.

I know people who have had the klarius backbox fitted and seem to find it ok, obviously not double skinned so not as good as our originals but better than some junk on the market.
I’ve added a link to it on eBay if that helps mate

Cheers Mick. I'm going to see a mate on Saturday who might be able to do something with mine but if not then l'll order one of these.

By the way, l bought a new two silencer main pipe from a forum member a few years back but it looks to me that it's for the 1.8 turbo as the N/A ones for sale seem to have one silencer. Will the two box fit my car?

Default Back box for 1.8

I have a brand new Klarius back box. I bought it 4 years ago for my 1.8 tourer.
The part number is 705 75 0011 and is exactly the same as the one in the link in another posting.
Very heavy and well made by the look of it. No clamp or hangers with it. £25.00 + postage

Sorted now with a big thanks to Dave. The box arrived as described very promptly & exceedingly well packed. A much better service than many fleabay transactions l've experienced.

Just fitted it, the major part of the job being removal of the old one. Closer inspection revealed it was too far gone to worry about attempting to repair.
The Klarius fits well, close to the body in places but doesn't knock when the engine is at idle or revved, l'll know more on the way home. It sounds a little throatier when coming off idle but seems to settle down.
The only niggle is that the inner support pin will only go halfway through the rubber mount. Bending it forward to a suitable position will necessitate removal of the box but l don't think it should be a problem. If so l'll do it another day.
While under there l note that the main exhaust pipe l have on the shelf will fit my car when needed. I think the car still has it's original one on as l can't see a forward join by the twin support pins.
