Default Stiff gear change

Hi I find, when I initially drive the diesel 75 (107K on the clock & 04 plate) after being parked up for a couple of days, initially gear change (manual) is rather stiff. It slackened off after a few changes. Is this to be expected? Ta for any advise.

Is it stiff only when driving, or when changing gear with the engine not running as well?
