Default Trouble starting diesel

Hi all just bought another 75 04 cdti club good all round car bits need sorting but good clean car in all but its got a problem starting hot or cold cranks over fine but won't fire up for at least 5+ seconds but when it starts runs and ticks over fine but did notice ìf I brake a bit hard the engin shudders a bit as if its going to cut out .( It's an automatic ) but it doesn't put your foot down and it pull away as it should

Any suggestions on the cure to sort this one out would be much appreciated

Cheers gary

A trip to Big Russ in Liversedge would be worthwhile, save all the guesswork....

Sounds like a good plan.

Garry just to satisfy my curious mind your new car doesn't start in gear does it?

Give BigRuss a call, if I had to take a stab in the dark judging by the cranking period I would suggest possibly a injector issue, and as Mike has said I wonder if it starts in gear maybe it’s had a manual ECU if it has
